Administrative Officer

OPEN TO VA EMPLOYEES ONLY Connected Care Service is seeking an Administrative Officer to be the final administrative decision-making authority, with responsibility, and accountability for issues impacting service operation. Responsibilities encompass the management of human resources, the management of budgetary and financial aspects, the proper utilization of material resources, and the supervision of administrative staff. The Administrative Officer at the GS-12 level will provide administrative, analytical, and evaluative work related to program operations, and collaborates with program managers to ensure integrated goals and priorities for Connected Care Service are met. Works closely with peers in other services and VA medical centers to meet the needs of external customers. The incumbent is knowledgeable of overall VHA, VISN 21, and VAPAHCS goals, missions, and priorities to ensure a positive impact on other programs and resources. Advises the ACOS/CC, participating in policymaking, planning, and management decisions which impact operation of the range of Connected Care services within the health care system. The incumbent accepts and supports the guiding principles of the VAPAHCS and performs his or her duties in a manner that promotes patient safety, quality health care, outstanding customer service and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the Veteran. Furthermore, the incumbent actively supports the team concept and continually functions as a team player. Other duties consist of but not limited to:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note:

Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
personnel management, overseeing the full range of human resources requirements, recruitment, compensation, promotions, awards, benefits, classification, performance appraisals, grievance procedures, etc., overall budgeting and financial management formulation, presentation, execution, reports, adjustments of funds, administrative management to interpret national directives, developing/implementing local policies, defining administrative requirements, providing advice to top management. Work to establish/implement long and short-term plans, policies and procedures, providing high quality patient care, manage procurement and contracting for the service, preparing procurement request, evaluating proposals, providing advice to Associate Chief of Staff, Connected Care Service (ACOS/CC). You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
