Not required The OTA administers and monitors therapeutic interventions based on goals formulated by an Occupational Therapist and must also be able to carry out a general treatment plan without the direct involvement of an occupational therapist. Additional duties include clinical training of occupational therapy assistant students, supervision of volunteers, and completion of various administrative tasks within the department. The duties and responsibilities of this position are carried out throughout the medical center including various clinical, administrative and 2atient care areas associated with PM&RS. The major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Receives and interprets requests or instructions for occupational therapy procedures. Completes a preliminary review/examination of patient data, compiles and organizes pertinent information, and develops/presents a patient profile to be used in assessing patients' status and ascertaining need for therapy services. Plans and implements specialized treatment programs and applies occupational therapy procedures to patients under the general supervision of an occupational therapist. Utilizes complex therapeutic techniques and interventions and problem-solving skills, to maximize patient's functional status. Documents treatment and progress in patient's electronic medical record following hospital system and PM&R policies. Identifies and recommends complex adaptive and assistive devices and durable medical equipment (DME). Provides training to patients in the use of DME in accordance with the established occupational therapy treatment plan. Determines if DME meets patients' needs and brings any requests for modification of orders or DME to the attention of the supervising OT. (1) The individual must meet at least one of the following requirements below:
(a) Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy and two (2) years of experience as an occupational therapist; NOTE:
The baccalaureate degree must be from an approved program prior to the AOTA January 1, 2005 decision that the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) would only accredit master or doctoral degree programs in occupational therapy. or (b) Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy and two (2) full years of graduate education in a related field; NOTE:
The baccalaureate degree must be from an approved program prior to the AOTA January 1, 2005 decision that ACOTE would only accredit master or doctoral degree programs in occupational therapy. or (c) Master's Degree or higher in occupational therapy. Certification:
Successful completion of an associate degree in occupational therapy from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Candidates must possess a current NBCOT certification as an OT. State Licensure:
Candidates must possess a full, current, and unrestricted state license , to practice occupational therapy in a state, territory or Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia. Experience:
1 Year Experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in a healthcare setting. Grade Determinations:
GS-7 Experience. In addition to the basic requirements, 1 year of experience comparable to the next lower grade level. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the following KSAs:
Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1. Ability to utilize more complex therapeutic techniques and interventions, utilizing problem-solving skills, to maximize patient's functional status. 2. Ability to modify and adapt therapeutic interventions for simple and complex cases with a wide range of diagnoses and disabilities. 3. Ability to identify and recommend complex adaptive and assistive devices and durable medical equipment. References:

This position requires light lifting and carrying, under 15 pounds, reaching above shoulder height, use of fingers, both hands required, walking and standing for 6 hour, repeated bending 2 hours.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
