Serve as technical and expert advisor to the executive leadership team, service chiefs and other key leadership within VAPAHCS on patient-centered care. Establish priorities for personnel, workforce development and education, safety, security, equipment, supplies, and allocation of resources as needed. Plan and assign the work to be accomplished by subordinates based on priorities Selectively considers the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance of subordinates; provides advice, counsel, or instruction to employees regarding work and administrative matters, Interview candidates for positions; recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. The Director of Patient Experience should have over 5 years of experience working in role focused on improving and supporting the patient experience. Preferred applicants will have experience leading Veteran/Patient Focus groups, process improvement experience in patient experience initiatives, background in collecting and analyzing patient/Veteran feedback or satisfaction survey data, and experience in service recovery. You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles and practices of the emerging field of patient and family centered care. Expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced management techniques, including:
process improvement, managerial decision-making, human resources management, resource development, program evaluation and policy/systems analysis. Expert knowledge of investigative techniques necessary to design and direct evaluative studies to collect, correlate and analyze both factual and opinion data; to identify problem areas; to form significant conclusions; and to issue recommendations that will impact health care system operations, programs and policies. Knowledge of VHA and VAPAHCS' organizational structure, mission and core functions (including regulations, directives and policies and procedures) to perform and direct organizational review and analysis; to evaluate and make recommendations on the potential impact of proposed reforms and initiatives; and to plan/lead improvement initiatives. Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the capacity to coordinate, negotiate with, build consensus among and maintain effective working relationship with multiple stake holders, but not limited to patients, their families, executive leadership team, clinical and administrative staff and external organizations. . Physical Requirements:
The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. Incumbent will provide presentations and training to employees and other stakeholders and should be able to stand for various periods of time. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
