The Vehicle Dynamics team is responsible for developing the unparalleled ride, handling and performance attributes of all Tesla vehicles. In a fast-paced and constantly changing environment we deliver performance characteristics that help define the brand. We are looking for a skilled and passionate group members who will provide innovative and efficient solutions while meeting demanding timelines and superior performance requirements.
The Role
As part of the Vehicle Engineering team, the Engineer, Vehicle Dynamics will be responsible for qualitative and quantitative on-vehicle dynamics development. Technical investigations will include ride and handling drives, data acquisition and analysis as well as application of vehicle models. Duties include working within Vehicle Dynamics team but also cross-functionally at Tesla to meet performance goals and communicate results within demanding timelines. This is a hands-on role requiring a high level of self-direction, proven ability and flexibility.
Responsibilities
Perform ride and handling development and system checks
Active and passive
Road and track
Generate engineering data for all activities
Clearly communicate findings in a timely manor
Meet timing goals while maintaining flexibility
Participate in rig testing
Participate in design, program and product reviews and provide supported feedback.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability

years proven success in passive and active Vehicle development.
Knowledge in vehicle instrumentation and data analysis.
Expertise in performance vehicle drive and tuning, with a desire to improve.
An insatiable desire to develop ultimate vehicle performance characteristics.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Experience working in a complex, dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Creative problem solver interested in new ideas and approaches.
Experience developing performance goals for different specifications of vehicle, markets, controls and autonomous vehicles a plus.
Desire for continued learning.
