We are currently seeking:
Part-Time Activities Assistant (30 hours)
We are looking for compassionate and focused candidates who take pride in the ability to provide excellent care for our residents.
The activities assistant duties include but are not limited to the following:
Teach and lead planned activities (generally 2-3 per day), using materials and equipment provided. Some activities will require prior planning and gathering of necessary materials. One may also teach a class of special interest.
Assist the Director of Activities with planning of monthly activity calendar, and compilation and distribution of that calendar.
The position is part-time, with occasional nights and weekends.
Moving of furniture and bringing necessary equipment such as the TV/VCR cart is sometimes necessary for activities.
Communicate with Housekeeping Staff for Activity Room set-ups.
Provide one-to-one visits with residents, as scheduled. Visits could include reminiscing, reality awareness, socialization, or educational activities.
Supervise and direct volunteers as needed.
Participate in in-service training programs.
Participate in committee meetings as necessary.
Maintain Bulletin Boards to ensure that information posted is current and organized.
Encourage residents to participate in activities by informing them of daily activities.
Escort residents to daily activities.
Other Job Functions:
Coordinate with the Director of Activities for special events, as needed.
Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
HS Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to read, speak well and be understood in the English language.
Must have attention to detail, follow through and good interpersonal/problem solving ability.
Computer literacy.
Bilingual ability helpful.
Must complete post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and 2 Step TB test/Chest X-Ray. Employment contingent upon fingerprint clearance from Department of Justice/FBI.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
