We are currently seeking:
Medical Records Assistant
We are looking for compassionate and focused candidates who take pride in the ability to provide excellent care for our residents.
The medical records assistant duties include but are not limited to the following:
Prepare reports on status of medical record documentation and completion,
Arrange destruction of records that have reached their retention limit.
Maintain charts, thinning as needed, and review thinned portions and file appropriately.
File late records: T.O. orders, drug sheets, lab work, etc.
Assist with the new hire process of coordinating pre-employment physical chart assembly, review and preparation of lack sheets within 3 days of discharge
Obtain completion by physicians, nurses, and other disciplines.
Code completed charts.
File completed charts.
Send copies of discharge summaries and consultations to community resident's house charts.
Return index cards to files in Outpatient Services offices.
Bring house medical record to SNF if community resident
Pull index card from files in OPS if community resident
Obtain patient's signature on Consent to Care, Patient's Rights, and Form 1453
Obtain face sheet information and complete face sheet
Audit admission charts within 3 days of admission and report to DOH
Break down charts of deceased residents for filing
Obtain practitioner's signature on orders and coordinate notation of orders and order changes with charge nurse
Notify appropriate person of incomplete documentation
Report audit findings to DOH
Monthly notification to physicians of required visits
Monthly notification to physicians and DOH of late required visits
Timely Medicare certification as requested by MDS coordinator
Weekly: Change of Condition, Telephone Order, Medication & Treatment, Restraint Weekly Summaries, Care Conference, ADL
Monthly: Weights/Vital Signs, Physician visits/documentation
Role models professional behavior and coaches and mentors staff to develop maximum potential
Participate in other assigned duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Pharmacy Technician Certification
Medical Terminology knowledge
1-2 years of data entry experience
HS Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to read, speak well and be understood in the English language.
Must have attention to detail, follow through and good interpersonal/problem solving ability.
Computer literacy - MS Office Knowledge
Bilingual ability helpful.
Must complete post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and 2 Step TB test/Chest X-Ray. Employment contingent upon fingerprint clearance from Department of Justice/FBIEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
