Job Summary DATE POSTED 1 day ago Schedule Full-time Job Code 4124 Employee Status Regular Grade L Requisition ID 101292 The Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) seeks a talented and dynamic Chief of Staff to serve as a high-visibility strategic partner that supports the Senior Vice Dean for Cancer Programs (Stanford School of Medicine) Chief Cancer Officer (Stanford Health Care) SCI Director (SVDCP CCO SCI Director with effective decision-making, project management, and execution of strategic initiatives.
The Chief of Staff will report to and partner with the SVDCP CCO SCI Director in developing and executing cancer strategies within and across Stanford Medicine, and will have administrative reporting to the SCI Associate Director, Administration and Strategy.
Working with the SCDCP CCO SCI Director, the Chief of Staff will also partner with key faculty leaders for the development of strategic plans that foster program development in the tripartite areas of cancer clinical research, patient care and training programs.
The Chief of Staff will use their excellent communication skills to build and manage external relations for the SVDCP COO SCI Director and promote and enhance the SCI brand in all that they do, and including to attract and retain talent.
The SCI Chief of Staff will live in the future and focus on long-term planning and projects to ensure the growth and success of the cancer enterprise projects of the SVDCP CCO SCI Director.

The SCI earned its most recent comprehensive cancer center designation by the NCI in 2022, and is a prominent, growing and complex Institute within Stanford Medicine.
Cancer clinical research is integrated throughout Stanford Medicine which is comprised of Stanford School of Medicine and our adult and pediatric health systems - Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children's Health.

Duties include:
Lead strategic planning and analysis for complex university programs or functions with significant business, regulatory and/or technical challenges requiring subject matter expertise.
Manage and direct the development, implementation, administration and evaluation of programs or functions.
Monitor trends and recommend program or functions direction.
Act as the subject matter expert for School/unit and/or the university regarding the interpretation, implementation and compliance with policies and regulations.
Recommend actions and/or resolve complex issues that span organizational boundaries.
Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
Direct and manage outreach strategy that may include relationship development, communications, and compliance.
Oversee or supervise staff in the development and implementation of programs or functions.
May develop and/or oversee budgets; manage finances including monitoring, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and ten years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

COMPENSATION:
The expected pay range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000 per annum.
Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
