Sensor Integration Engineer

The Role Tesla is seeking a sensor integration engineer.
This engineer is responsible for ensuring sensor performance is successfully achieved when integrated with other subsystems in the vehicle.
You will - Be responsible for overall functional and performance readiness of the sensing system and its features at any point in the product life cycle Serve as the owner of a given sensing system and central point-of-contact for any issues during development or deployment Understand and highlight impacts of electrical, software, or process changes Understand and debug hardware and software interactions during design, launch, and deployment Understand system performance constraints and its capability to support post-production features Manage priorities and support a host of projects simultaneously Responsibilities Drive the design and execution of sensing subsystems through the following:
Distill sensor product requirements into constraints and actionable engineering systems design discussions Host cross-functional sensor design discussions with electrical, software, manufacturing, Translate sensor design discussions into design documents in the form of system block diagrams, functional requirements, and performance requirements Define sensor hardware and software interfaces Support early sensor prototype development to de-risk new technologies Define an integration test plan for sensing hardware products or software features with integration milestones that focus on de-risking product or feature deployment and align with the program timeline Execute initial sensor bring-up and integration testing at the vehicle level to validate system design assumptions Perform change impact analysis for change requests by summarizing impacted devices, interfaces, and processes in the hardware and software domain Ensure sensing system is characterized across a host of environments Support system validation teams in developing electrical and software test plans Use field data to improve design and performance of the sensor Requirements Bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
At least 2 years of experience in systems design, systems architecture, systems integration, or related field.
Strong electrical and embedded systems fundamentals Hands-on technical experience debugging complex subsystems involving network microprocessors and software-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable analyzing data as well as developing analytical tools Experience in MATLAB, Python, C/C+
or equivalent tools for modeling and analysis Proficient in data visualization and statistical analysis Understanding of hardware and software development process Preferred
Qualifications:
